STA TASK FORCE KICKS OFF DRAFTING OF POSITION PAPERS AND 2023 STA ANNUAL CONFERENCE ORGANISATION

Several of STA’s members met for an in-person meeting at the offices of Alteatica in Madrid, Spain on 16 March 2023. The meeting served in comparing each other’s roadmaps for the upcoming months and years and to kick-start a closer collaboration and initiate a task force.

Apart from the STA Secretariat, respresentatives from Aleatica, the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the Spanish Association for Cement and Its Applications and the Spanish Road Association attended and vouched to contribute to the task force.

The joint team will tackle the following over-arching topics and tasks together:

  • Research & development priorities recommendations for the European Commission;

  • 2023 STA Annual Conference & Innovation Awards in form of an on-site “demonstration format”;

  • Involvement and consultation of transport infrastructure end users;

  • Adaptation of road infrastructures to the use of CCAM and CAVs;

  • Digitization of management platforms for infrastructures;

  • Taxonomy of new mobility and transport mixes.

The task force will convene on a regular basis to check their progress on these shared oxygen lines and additionally publish their work in form of Technical Publications or Discussion Papers, which can also be presented at conferences and events.
