STA KICKS OFF NEW EU-FUNDED PROJECT “KEYSTONE”

On 21 & 22 June 2023, STA attented the kick-off meeting in Brussels (Belgium) of a new EU-funded Research & Innovation Action called KEYSTONE. The new project will introduce a new digital application to facilitate cross-border logistics compliance.

KEYSTONE will span over 3 years and end in May 2026. It is coordinated by the Italian University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and apart from STA itself leading the Communication and Dissemination of the project, several STA members are also among the project partners, including Etelätär Innovation, the Technical University of Madrid and the Spanish Road Association (AEC).

The overall goal of KEYSTONE is the development and conceptualisation of a sustainble, efficient and safe transport system, which allows enforcement authorities to access data for compliance checks.

During the meeting, all participants had the opportunity to brainstorm and exchange ideas, where afterwards a social dinner took place and a more casual opportunity to discourse on the project was offered.

The 1st General Assembly of the KEYSTONE consortium in Brussels(Belgium).

To achieve this ambitious goal, several milestones and objectives will be met, including the demonstration of a proposed web app solution for both authorities and operators that will accelerate the process of cross border documentation and provide them a fast track documentation process.

The project is co-funded by both the European Commission’s Horizon Europe and the United Kingdom Research & Innovation Fund.
