STA SUSTAINABLE ROAD PAVEMENTS COURSE RESCHEDULED
The STA Certified Course on Sustainable Road Pavements has been rescheduled to take place online from 08 - 12 November 2021. This series of lectures teaches participants to evaluate the sustainability of road pavements both existing and new and they learn in practical terms how to render them more environmentally friendly. The course also includes a detailed overview over all recycled materials on the market today.
The lecturers, Mr. César Bartolomé (Director for Innovation, Spanish Institute of Cement and its Applications (IECA)) and Dr. Davide Lo Presti (Assistant Professor, University of Palermo & Visiting Academic, University of Nottingham) share their best practice and lessons learned on the following topics with the participants:
Sustainable Infrastructures overview;
Circular economies, LCA & LCCA;
Materials & Technologies: recycling asphalt, tire rubbers and cement;
In-situ techniques with cement;
Manufacturing, design & construction: slender and smart pavements, efficient construction and best equipment;
Management & maintenance: social impacts, surface characteristics and impact of road condition;
Auditing & certification of sustainable roads.
