Get to know the 2022 STA Annual Conference Themes!
The main theme of the conference is “Adapting transportation infrastructure to the new mobility: A realistic look into needs & requirements”. The conference is chaired by STA President José F. Papí and is split in two distinct Roundtables, focusing on the needs & requirements on the one and emerging technical solutions & best practices on the other hand. Each Roundtable takes about 30 minutes and they are moderated by STA Vice-President & Chair of STA TC 1, Elena De La Pena and STA Vice-President & Chair of STA TC 2, Wolf Peter Zeplin respectively.
The first Roundtable under the overarching theme of needs & requirements covers sub-themes such as:
Infrastructure Requirements for Intelligent, Electrified, Cooperative and Autonomous Road Driving;
Meeting the Infrastructural Requirements of Vulnerable Users;
The SCALE-UP Project, a New Generation of Urban Mobility Infrastructures: The Case of Madrid, Antwerp and Turku.
The second Roundtable focuses on practical solutions & best practices directly from the industry:
Smart Operation of Transportation Infrastructures;
Safe Segregated Infrastructures;
Examining Value Propositions of a Shared Mobility Hub: Lessons from the eHUBS Project;
Physical and Virtual Qualification Tests for Road Safety Infrastructures: New Challenges.
Meet the 2022 STA Annual Conference Speakers!
A diverse set of top-notch speakers are presenting their point-of-view and expertise on the different themes. An important differentiator of the STA Annual Conference are the speakers of the conference, which come from diverse backgrounds in academia and industry and unite Europe’s top experts in the field of Transport Infrastructures including materials, safety, policy, construction, financing & funding and mobility experts in one room.
The first Roundtable includes for now the Director for Innovation of the Spanish Institute of Cement and Its Applications (IECA) & Chair of STA’s TC 3, Mr. César Bartolomé, the COO of Etelätär Innovation and STA Programmes Coordinator, Mrs. Friederike L. Kühl and a representative of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM).
The second Roundtable brings together the Head of the R&D Department of Aleatica, Mr. Ricardo Lobo, the Director of the Safety Division of Road Steel Engineering (Gonvarri Industries), Mr. Antonio Amengual, Doctorate Candidate of the Department of Transport and Regional Economics at the University of Antwerp, Mr. Elnert Coenegrachts and the Chief Technology Officer of Transpolis, Mr. Jocelyn Perisse.
