  • STA ANNUAL CONFERENCE & INNOVATION AWARDS

    This one-day landmark event brings together key opinion leaders and business professionals to explore the current state and future of Smart Transportation Infrastructures in a unique and dynamic atmosphere. It offers the opportunity to reflect on current issues, learn about new trends, and engage with key thought-leaders, decision-makers and practitioners from across the globe.

    The 2016 Edition took place in Brussels, Belgium on 3 February 2016. Download the programme and conference proceedings.

    The 2020 Edition will take place on 24 November 2020. Its format (virtual vs. presential) and its programme will be announced in due time.

  • STA TECHNICAL ROUNDTABLES

    These one-day events offer a review of the specific efforts carried out by the STA community to bring to reality the deployment of Smart Transportation Infrastructures connecting people and businesses across the world.

    The first Roundtable took place in the heart of Europe –Brussels, Belgium – on Tuesday 25 October 2016. Download the programme and Roundtable proceedings.

  • STA TRAINING WORKSHOPS

    These events aims at facilitating the exchange of international good practice connected to the methods, technologies and standards associated to transportation infrastructures.

    The first STA Training Workshop took place in Yaoundé (Cameroon) on 13 – 14 June 2017. Download the programme.

  • STA INNOVATION AWARDS

    The ‘STA Innovation Awards’ honour global innovators that have decisively contributed to deploying Smart Transportation Infrastructures worldwide, and to improving the methods, technologies and standards associated to transportation infrastructures.

    The Awards are given in two categories:

    • Person of the Year: highlighting the achievements of exceptional individual accomplishment.
    • Best Innovation Project or Solution: underscoring teamwork that is breaking the existing paradigms for transportation infrastructures.

  • 17th COTEC Innovation Summit: 'From 4.0 to Industrial Reinassance. The Next Steps for a Post COVID Era'

    STA has participated as an Institutional Partner to the 17th edition of the COTEC Innovation Summit (Portugal). The conference was held under the theme “From 4.0 to Industrial Renaissance. The Next Steps for a Post COVID Era”, and focused on the impact of COVID 19 and on debating the possibility of a European “Industrial Renaissance”, converging strategies of back-shoring, 4.0 technologies and innovation.

  • 1ST ONLINE CONGRESS ON SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY (COMUS)

    The first Online Congress on Sustainable Urban Mobility (COMUS) was held on 20-24 April 2020. This 100% online event gathered 110 panellists and 12,000 participants around topics such as sustainability, innovation and current mobility trends. STA President J. Papí represented STA at the event with a presentation on the “Key Challenges for the Smart Transportation Infrastructures of the Future”.

  • Road Network Safety Management in Fast-Motorising Economies

    STA, as Knowledge Partner, supports this IRF (International Road Federation) workshop intended to provide participants with the necessary theoretical background and applied practices on traffic injury risk diagnosis and reduction to ensure road safety programmes and investments are adequately dimensioned and targeted.

    This two-days course brings together road safety professionals and internationally-renowned speakers from different countries across the globe.

  • Summer School 2015: 'Sustainability Assessment of Transport Infrastructures'

    STA supports this course aimed at civil engineers, researchers and academics with an interest in sustainable engineering.

    The event, organised in the context of Super ITN (Sustainable Pavement & Railway Initial Training Network), brings together world-class academics and researchers from Virginia Tech (US) or Network Rail (UK), among others.

STA participates as Institutional Partner in the 17th edition of the COTEC Innovation Summit (Portugal). This year edition is held under the title “From 4.0 to Industrial Reinassance. The Next Steps for a Post COVID Era”.

This edition will focus on the impact of COVID 19 and will anticipate and debate the possibility of the yet vague concept of Europe’s “Industrial Renaissance”, converging strategies of backshoring, 4.0 technologies and innovation.

COTEC Portugal is a network focused on promoting innovation, business cooperation and the diffusion of technology under development. COTEC has a privileged position to develop collaboration between private and public sector entities involved in the innovation ecosystem.
