2023 STA Annual Conference & Innovation Awards: Final Programme Announced

The final programme under the topic “Introducing Taxonomy in Transportation Infrastructures” is public.

Join the 8th STA Conference & Innovation Awards, which will take place on-site at the CSI Headquarters in Bollate, Milan (Italy) and at the A35 Arena of the Future in Chiari (Italy) on 26 October 2023 for a unique opportunity to visit the test grounds, witness a live crash test, engage with experts in transportation infrastructures and meanwhile honour global innovators.

New STA Discussion Paper Published

It focuses on transportation infrastructures and the new EU taxonomy

The European authorities have created an ambitious new framework that serves as a classification tool. It encourages governments, financial institutions, and other EU economic operators and stakeholders to make more environmentally friendly decisions and meet the European Green Deal objectives, including the 2050 climate-neutrality target through pragmatic and hands-on guidelines and best practices.

 

KEYSTONE project launches a stakeholder survey

The recently-started EU-funded KEYSTONE project invites you to take an online survey & help the consortium to build the future of transport logistics!

The activities are now entering the first phase and the KEYSTONE team is collaborating closely with people employed in the transport sector, logistics, and enforcement authorities all around Europe, in order to identify the needs and the challenges of the deployment of a digitalised transport ecosystem for goods and passengers.

STA sub-committee on Road Restrain Systems (RRS) presents findings at PIARC World Road Congress

The Smart Transportation Alliance (STA) is represented by Dr Carlos Azparren Calvo, former Team Leader at the Technical Directorate of the Directorate General for Roads, Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) at the XXVIIth World Road Congress, which takes place at the Prague Congress Center (PCC) in Prague, Czech Republic on 2 - 6 October 2023. STA’s Sub-Committee on Road Restraint Systems (RRS) will be presenting their findings of their work since 2015".

Participants of the conference are able to attend the presentation on 4 October, at 09:30 - 13:00 CET, during the Technical Session on Road Safety. The corresponding conference paper is titled “A Voluntary Safety Excellence Labelling: A Way Ahead for Road Restraint Systems (RRS)”.

EU will launch anti-subsidy inquiry into China-made electric cars, von der Leyen says

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced an anti-subsidy inquiry into low-cost electric cars coming from China.

The electric vehicles sector is a "crucial industry for the clean economy, with a huge potential for Europe. But global markets are now flooded with cheaper Chinese electric cars. And their price is kept artificially low by huge state subsidies," von der Leyen said during her State of the Union speech in Strasbourg.
