The STA Management Committee meets on 25 February 2015

On the occasion of a fruitful encounter held in Brussels (Belgium), the STA leadership programmed the gradual release of a collection of STA Technical Reports and Discussion Papers covering issues of interest for the deployment of Smart Transportation Infrastructures across the world. The Management Committee also validated the integration of the International Road Research Board (IR2B) into the Smart Transportation Alliance (STA). The meeting also served to schedule the 1st edition of the STA Annual Conference, which will take place during week 48 of the current year.

The first STA Discussion Paper, now available for download

The “STA Discussion Papers” put forward some ideas or opinions discussing a particular technical or scientific topic related to transportation infrastructures.

The first issue, downloadable from the ¨Publications¨ section of the STA website, proposes a vision for the “Smart Roads” of the Future.

The first STA Technical Report, now available for download

The “STA Technical Reports” provide an in-depth review of the process, progress, or results of a technical or scientific research or the state of a technical or scientific research problem related to transportation infrastructures.

The first issue, downloadable from the ¨Publications¨ section of the STA website, is entitled “Towards climate-resilient transportation infrastructures”.

HIPEBA website and brochure already available: learn more about high-performance steels for road safety

HIPEBA (High Performance Steel for Safer and more Competitive Safety Barriers) is a 36-month R&D project funded by the Research Coal and Steel Services (RCFS) that aims to develop safer and more competitive road restraint systems. HIPEBA started in July 2014, is led by Fundación CIDAUT (Spain) and counts on the participation of the following partners: SSAB (Sweden), Lulea University of Technology (Sweden), Centro Sviluppo Materiali (Italy), HIASA (Spain), Copro (Belgium) and STA (United Kingdom).
