STA WISHES YOU HAPPY HOLIDAYS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR

The Smart Transportation Alliance (STA) would like to wish all our readers a very happy and peaceful holiday season. We hope you enjoy this time with your loved ones and have a wonderful start to the New Year!

As we wrap up 2024, we take a moment to reflect on everything we have achieved this year. We are very happy to share our accomplishments:

1. We launched the Safety+ Excellence Labelling for Road Restraint Systems (RRS) on the European market, an initiative aimed at providing a fair and objective assessment of the safety performance of CE-certified RRS to public authorities and consumers;

2. We published a Discussion Paper under the title “Taking Transport Infrastructures Into the Future: The Digitisation of Road Networks”, which explores the emerging concept of digitising transport infrastructures;

3. We continued to contribute as Work Package (WP) leaders to two ongoing EU-funded research projects, SCALE-UP & KEYSTONE;

4. We welcomed Bureau Veritas as a new member of STA;

5. We produced more than 10 episodes of our podcast mini-series, STA Smart Talks, where industry experts shared valuable insights and knowledge;

6. We participated in several conferences, knowledge exchange webinars, and events;

7. We held successfully the 9th edition of the STA Annual Conference & Innovation Awards in Madrid, Spain on 7 November 2024.

As we move into 2025, we are even more motivated to build on this momentum and continue working towards smarter, safer, and more sustainable transportation infrastructures.
