DRIVING INNOVATION FORWARD: STA MEMBERS AT INTERTRAFFIC AMSTERDAM 2024

From 16 to 19 April 2024, the Smart Transportation Alliance (STA) was present at Intertraffic Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

Intertraffic Amsterdam is the leading global platform uniting businesses and government entities to discuss smart mobility, transport infrastructures, traffic management, and road safety. Furthermore, it serves as a networking hub, attracting more than 35,000 professionals.

STA Members took the opportunity to showcase their vision, mission and best practices to industry experts, policymakers and innovators from Europe and beyond. Among the 900 exhibitors, were several STA Members, including CSI S.p.a, GDTech Engineering, HEINTZMANN Group, Road Steel Engineering SL & Transpolis were present throughout the event with a dedicated stand to represent their companies’ advancements across a spectrum of initiatives, product lines and best practices toward a more sustainable and efficient path for transportation.

Dr José F. Papí, STA’s President participated in the event, highlighting STA’s dedication to collaborating efforts within the transportation industry, and emphasising the importance of collective action in addressing industry challenges.

A meeting took place between several STA Members of Technical Committee 2 “Smart Safety & Security” including Mr Fausto Mozzarelli, Automotive Business Unit Director at CSI S.p.a and Mr Wolf P. Zeplin, Vice-President, Treasurer and Chair of STA’s Technical Committee on Security and Safety and Counsellor at Heintzmann Group Germany, exchanging ideas on sustainable transportation infrastructure solutions and improving road safety performance in Europe and beyond.

Continuing the ongoing discussion and the successful launch of the Safety+ Excellence Labelling earlier this year, STA Members highlighted the necessity for high-level quality rating systems that goes beyond mere compliance with EU standards.

Several fruitful discussions took place and conversations with more STA Members, such as Aleatica representatives, Mr Ricardo Lobo, Head of the R&D Department, and Mrs Marcela Loaiza Jaramillo, Innovation Analyst at Aleatica, delving into the development of transport infrastructures and the need for sustainable mobility solutions. Additionally, meetings took place with Mr Antonio Amengual, Director of Road Safety Division of Road Steel Engineering SL and Kim Vandenhoeke, Certification manager at COPRO, two additional Members of STA.

The event served as a unique opportunity for STA Members to unite, exchange ideas and align strategies with the alliance’s vision of fostering innovation and improving transportation methods, technologies, and standards in a collaborative spirit.
