STA Kicks Off New EU-Funded Project “KEYSTONE”
The project will span over 3 years and will develop a smart digital platform for fast-track compliance in road logistics.
On 21 & 22 June 2023, STA attended the kick-off meeting in Brussels (Belgium) of a new EU-funded Research & Innovation Action called KEYSTONE. The project will introduce a new digital application to facilitate cross-border logistics compliance. Several STA members are also among the project partners, including Etelätär Innovation, the Technical University of Madrid and the Spanish Road Association (AEC).
The overall goal of KEYSTONE, which will end in May 2026, is the development and conceptualisation of a sustainable, efficient and safe transport system, which allows enforcement authorities and logistic operators to access legal and secured data for compliance checks at borders and checkpoints.

Forbes: Are we there yet? On the road to a clean transportation future
Transportation today contributes one-fifth of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions globally.
Getting the world on track to reduce these emissions at the speed and scale consistent with climate goals will be no small feat.
In late 2015, Climate Works Foundation a number of partners came together to test an idea: philanthropy as a catalyst for conditions to tip the market toward cleaner vehicles. This global collaboration to accelerate the market, now known as the Drive Electric Campaign, supports research, engages policy-makers and businesses, and partners with communities like workers, health experts, and those who have been overburdened by tailpipe pollution for far too long.
