26 Sep Rating the success of transport infrastructure project delivery – Technical Report 2/2107 published

Well-recognised tools have been developed/used to assess the viability of transport infrastructure investments such as cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) which compare the costs of delivery and operation/maintenance to benefits generated by the infrastructure. Other techniques consider the environmental and social impacts of project alternatives such as life-cycle assessment (LCA) and social life-cycle assessment (SLCA). Many of these techniques are supported by frameworks and rating systems providing market signals to decision makers.

The report – drafted by Athena Roumboutsos of the University of the Aegean, Thierry Vanelslander of the University of Antwerp, and Aristeidis Pantelias of the University College London – is available for download here.
